Karina Franke
Director & Chairperson

Holding a BA(sociology/psychology), LLB and GradDipLegPrac; Karina has enjoyed a varied career in legal and social services with roles in private legal practice, NSW Government and in higher education.

Karina brings experience and knowledge in family law, child care and protection matters, criminal law and the courts, Probation and Parole case management and youth work. Karina also has corporate governance experience advising the University of Wollongong over the past 6 years as an in-house lawyer and senior manager.

With a strong sense of social justice, Karina is excited to contribute to FSA’s great work to date.

Tracey De Angelis
Director & Deputy Chairperson

Tracey joins the FSA board as Practice Governance Committee (PGC) Chair, a Queensland director with over 20years experience in health and human services leadership through reform, strategy, planning, transformation, engagement and delivery. Tracey’s experience in healthcare extends across Acute, Quaternary/Tertiary, Secondary, Primary, Prevention, and Community.

Tracey’s work has spanned Community Services, Not for Profit, and Government working across diverse populations and vulnerable groups.  Currently a Director within the Oceania Health and Technology Consulting Services with Ernst and Young and Non-Executive Director with Karakan Limited, Tracey has also enjoyed executive leadership positions with Brisbane South Primary Health Network (PHN)/Greater Metro South Brisbane Medicare Local and Queensland Health.

With a passion to support positive change in the lives of children, young people, adults and families through innovative community service delivery, Tracey also holds memberships with the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD), the Australasian College of Health Service Management (ACHSM) and the Australian Institute of Digital Health (AIDH).

Gary Jackson
Managing Director & Company Secretary

JP, MAICD, Sydney University Advanced Criminal Law, VIC Police APSIS L2 for Managers, AFP Cert IV Fraud Control & Investigations, Deakin University GradCertBA, completing an Intl MBA.

With 30years as a proven C-Level Executive, Company Director and Chairman, Gary is an experienced Executive Director of Health, Disability and Employment Services Group Advisory Boards, Chair of Clinical Governance Committees and Expert Industry Advisory Panels.

Gary has chaired various Group Finance, Audit and Risk Committee’s, being a Management Committee Member and Treasurer of an International Charity, Child Safety Association, as well as being a Board Director of Not for Profit (NFP) Community Services Organisation’s.

Gary has recently enjoyed 18years in NFP NGO Human Services including Int’l Development, Health, Disability, Medical Research, Mental Health, Allied Health, Child Protection, Child Safety, Education, Employment, Housing, Disability, Community and Professional Services.  His field work has extended throughout Australia, the Asia Pacific, Africa, USA, UK and MENA regions.

Amanda Van de Paverd
Director

Charles Sturt University GradCert, International Security and Counter Terrorism, University of New England BBus Administration and Management, Royal Australian Air Force DipGov (Management), United Nations Peace Keeping and Conflict Resolution and Health Services International Cert IV, Public Safety (Defence Safety Coordination).

Amanda has enjoyed an extensive career with the Royal Australian Air Force with a focus on personnel management, organisational design and workforce optimisation. Her time in the Air Force included operational duty for which she was awarded a commendation for her contribution to the International Campaign Against Terror.

Since leaving full time Air Force 7 years ago, Amanda has pursued a professional career specialising in leadership, change management and organisation design as a Management Consultant. Amanda has delivered reviews, large projects and community implementations in the NGO, Government and Health sectors, together with cultural and behavioural change initiatives.

Amanda joins the FSA board and Human Resources and Governance (HRG) Committee as a Queensland Company Director as HRG Chair.

Dirk Verwohlt
Director

Master’s degree in Business Administration and Management (German degree of Diplom-Kaufmann), Certified Internal Auditor, and a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Dirk has over 20 years’ experience across a broad range of leadership positions in public and private companies in Australia and Germany. He has worked in the corporate sector and professional services industry to improve risk management and internal control frameworks.

Dirk is currently the Head of Risk and Audit at Pacific National, where he is a member of the senior leadership team. Prior to this, Dirk has led risk and audit functions in Australia and overseas. Since 2021, he is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Joining FSA as Chair, Audit Risk and Compliance (ARC) Committee, Dirk is passionate about serving and caring for the communities we live in.

Kathryn Barker
Director

Bachelor of Teaching (Early Childhood), Cert IV in Assessment & Workplace Training and a Cert IV in Frontline Management.

Kathryn has worked with Illawarra Area Child Care (IACC) for the past 12years and is an experienced Early Childhood Services Manager, ensuring that 11 early childhood services provide optimum educational programs and care environments for children, families and communities.  Kathryn brings 24 years experience working in the sector.

Peter Pak
Director

Bachelor of Business (Major in Accounting), MBA, CPA

Peter has held several senior leadership positions spanning over 30 years, both domestically and internationals within the private sector.

Peter has extensive experience in Operational Risk, Anti-Money Laundering (AML), Internal Control, Strategy, Merger and Acquisition advisory.

Peter is a Six Sigma green belt and has led large scale process improvements and change management projects and looks forward to applying his professional finance audit risk and compliance experience to achieve social impact for those most in need.

Tim Whiting
Director

Tim is a senior finance partner with 20 years’ experience in risk management, compliance, external and internal audit, operations management, business development and strategy roles. This has been established working in both the professional services industry and commercial sector both listed and unlisted.

Tim is currently the Head of Integrity, Risk & Compliance for a national subsidiary of an internationally listed Group and has held positions, including Chair and Board Director of Not for Profit (NFP) organisation’s.

He values integrity, honesty and a commitment to challenging himself whilst embracing differences and is passionate about serving and caring for communities. He has a strong belief that a board’s fundamental role is to be accountable for creating and delivering value and as director contribute through effective governance, guiding and reviewing the strategic direction and monitoring its implementation by Management.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Majoring in Accounting) is a member of the Australia Institute of Company Directors, CPA Australia and the Institute of Internal Auditors in Australia.

Roy Rogers
Director

MAICD, MBA, CP (Engineer), BSC (Eng) Merit, Structural Engineering Certificate.

Roy is the CEO of the Flagstaff Group.  Roy brings extensive commercial knowledge running multi-disciplinary businesses, with proven skills in operations and change management.  Teamwork and the ability to bring people together are important to Roy.
