Staying Home leaving Violence
Domestic violence can have tragic psychological, social and economic impacts on families, children and the community as a whole. It occurs in all parts of society regardless of location, socioeconomic status, age, cultural background or religious beliefs.
Family Services Australia offers a range of specialist services and advice through our Staying Home Leaving Violence Program in the Wollongong, Shellharbour and Kiama local government areas. This program gives you and your children long-term support to address the impacts of domestic violence on your lives.
Some of the services provided under the program include:
- Information and support on Apprehended Domestic Violence Orders (ADVOs), family law matters and how to use Court Orders effectively to enhance your safety
- Information on alternative accommodation and services for the excluded person
- Safety audits to help improve the security of your home
